My wife is a “shining star” – GEJ praises Patience

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday in Abuja described his
wife, Patience as a “shining star” in his life.

He said this at a brief ceremony to mark the 55th birthday of the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.

Reports say he thanked God for granting her good health and later presented her with a gift in the presence of close family members and top government functionaries.

The first lady responded by saying “Whatever might have happened to me was God’s design for my life.”
The President’s wife returned to the country penultimate Wednesday after spending about seven weeks in a foreign country believed to be Germany. She was reported to have been nursing an undisclosed ailment which required surgery, a report she has since denied.
Highlights of the event included a session of thanksgiving prayers and presentation of gifts.
