1 dead in shooting at Creflo Dollar's megachurch

Fulton County police say one person was shot and killed on Wednesday morning inside World Changers International Church, and the suspect remains on the loose.  Fulton County police say the person may have left the scene in a black Subaru.

FOX 5's Doug Evans reports that a man walked into the church's chapel around 10:30 a.m. and opened fire.  At least one person was hit by that gunfire.  According to the church's website, worship services are held on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. in the chapel.  The chapel is located in an older section of the church's campus.

The chapel is also home to a daycare center, and dozens of children were inside at the time.  None of them were injured, and parents were seen coming to the church all morning long to pick up their kids.

According to authorities, they were originally taking the victim to South Fulton Medical Center, but the ambulance was then diverted to a nearby trauma center, but the victim did not survive.

Fulton County schools confirms that lockdowns have been lifted at both McNair Elementary and Bethune Elementary Schools.  School board officials say they were alerted by police of a manhunt in the area near those two schools, and issued lockdowns for both schools as a precaution.

Rev. Creflo Dollar is the founder and senior pastor of World Changers International Church.  He was seen walking around outside the church as the investigation was underway, and he was not injured.

There has been no comment by church officials so far, but they are expected to hold a press conference sometime this afternoon.   Church members at the scene told FOX 5 they can't believe someone would walk into their church and do this.

According to their website, the megachurch has about 30,000 members.
