FORMER Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Modibbo Belgore (rtd), has opined that with the stability of Nigeria and its resources well channeled for her development, the country will be among the top 10 world economies in the next 10 years.

Belgore, who noted that the nation would wax stronger after the current social, political and economic challenges confronting it, made the observation at the 15th Annual Dinner of the Third Estate, a Non-Governmental Organisation, held in Ilorin, Kwara State Friday.

He stressed that the country would not break up in 2015 despite some of the challenges confronting it.

The retired Chief Justice, who was the chairman of the occasion, explained that there is no state in Nigeria without mineral resources, while pointing out that the country was blessed with both human and natural resources.

Noting that there was no reason Nigeria should continue to be underdeveloped, he stressed that Nigerians were intelligent, creative and capable of taking the country high by developing all the sectors of its economy.

Belgore reiterated the need for unity of purpose and commitment of Nigerians towards the actualisation of the country’s nationalists’ dreams while also suing for peace, tolerance, unity, dedication and commitment among Nigerians._________ SOURCE
